Titled in full as "The Book of Common Prayer, and Administration of the Sacraments, and Other Rites and Ceremonies of the Church, According to the Use of the Church of England Together with the Psalms Printed in an Easy Reporting Style of Pitman's Shorthand", this item is rare and perhaps of narrow interest but certainly has some curiosity value, for instance to those with a knowledge and interest in shorthand and the extent and history of its use.

This volume begins with an introduction in standard orthography concerning the Service of the Church, its ceremonies and why some be abolished and some retained, how the Psalter and the rest of holy scripture is appointed to be read, and the rules and dates of feasts and fasts throughout the whole year. The remainder of the volume is in Pitman shorthand. with just titles and some inserts in standard orthography.

Good condition. Maroon leather covered boards with gilt lettering to front and spine. Boards and spine are rubbed and the front hinge is loose (see photo). Red edged pages are clean and undamaged
