Saints, birds and beasts

£50.00

Product description

Some very minor shelf ware to the book, however the laminate plastic dust sleeve has kept the book in very good condition. There is a pencil inscription on the inside of the front cover, as well as an ink stamp from when the book previously belonged to a library.

This book presents a collection of legends about saints, animals and birds. With the exception of the story of St. George fighting the dragon and St. Patrick and the snakes, the stories within this book serve to celebrate the unity that can exist between humankind and our wild cohabitants. Such stories include St. Francis' taming of the wolf, St Jerome's trusting of the lion, St. David and the honeybees, and St. Hugh with his loyal swan. Each of the legends are told alongside beautiful black and white illustrations (see photos).
