James Nisbet & Co 1913. Smaqll hardback with no dust jacket in fair/ good condition - some light marking/ fading to boards and along spine and light wear to corner edges and edges of spine. Pages are a little tanned with some light foxing to inside boards and end papers. Binding is fine. There is a dedication in ink dated 1916 on inside front board.

The Christian’s Secret of a Happy Life. By H.W.S.
This slim volume published in 1913 first appeared in 1875 and became a popular classic. It was reprinted many times and is still available today in book form and as an audiobook. HWS was Hannah Whitehall Smith, a member of an influential American Quaker family. She and her husband were influenced by the Plymouth Bretheren and Methodist Revivalist movement. They left the Quakers and became speakers for the Holiness Movement travelling in the UK and Europe.
The author’s states her aim as not wishing to change the reader’s theological views but to reveal fundamental truths of life and experience.
