This book is the result of a search for truth that has so far lasted thirty years and, naturally still continues. I have combed the religions and philosophies of East and West and taken into account, so far as I comprehend them, the views of modern science.
I cannot claim any originality for the ideas in this book, for, of course, "there is nothing new under the sun." What I have attempted is to portray what I regard as vital truths, known, unfortunately, only to a minority in all the ages and in our own day.
I know that, when the precepts described in these pages are put into practice, life becomes a great and stimulating adventure.
