A History of Devonshire Ornithology

£45.00

Product description

"A History of Devonshire Ornithology" is concerned not so much with birds as with people who study birds, systematically recording their observations, and gradually building a body of knowledge larger and more durable than any one individual. This study can effectively trace the unique local mesh of personalities, prevailing attitudes, legal, economic, and technical conditions in which this area of natural history flourished, eventually forming for contemporary studies of environment and biology. This book is signed by the author in pen on the ffep. Condition: the dust-jacket is torn at the tail of the spine, and has crinkling around its edges. There is also some spotting on the inside of the dust-jacket. The cloth boards have some very mild marking, and some denting around the edges of the spine. The book's edges show some very mild marking and denting, except the fore-edge, which shows some moderate staining as well. The interior pages are generally crisp and clean with a good strong binding.
