A Land

£25.99

Product description

The book has cream cloth-covered boards and spine that have darkened in places due to age. The book title and author's name are written in gilt on a red panel on the spine. The publisher's name is also written in gilt on the spine. The book has very little bumping to the corners and very little shelf wear. The hinges are in good condition and the pages are tightly bound to the spine. The pages are generally well cut. They show some discolouration especially at the edges. The book contains 14 black and white photographs of fossils and land or rock features. There are also two colour plates by Henry Moore showing "imagined" fossil shapes, one reproduced as the frontispiece. At the end of the book are four maps showing the changes in land and sea areas over various geological ages. The book has a dust jacket although it is in poor condition. There are many tears in the jacket's paper such that some of the text cannot be read. The tears are mainly along the top and bottom edges although there are two internal tears as well. When compared with the book's cloth boards the torn dust jacket's paper leaves areas on the book that have not darkened so much. The jacket has not been price-clipped.
