Alvis: The Story of the Red Triangle

£55.00

Product description

Kenneth Day
Haynes Publishing, 2008; 4th edition.
Hardback; 220 x 275 mm; black boards with gold titles on spine; 400 pages. Unclipped dust cover.
The book is in very good condition. The binding is sound and the book is only very slightly cocked. There is only slight bumping to the edges of the dust jacket. There is a circa 2 cm tear at the bottom of the back flap of the jacket. There is a vertical crease on the inside of the front flap of the jacket. There is a single slight indentation on the bottom of the back cover. There is a small mark on page 334.
For nearly 50years Coventry-based Alvis manufactured cars that were renowned worldwide for their quality, performance, and reliability. In the mid-1930s the company diversified into aero and defence industries, becoming Europe’s largest builder of light armoured vehicles. This edition of the book brings the story up to date at the time it was published.
The book is profusely illustrated with photographs and technical drawings in monochrome and colour, and has been printed on high quality glossy paper. All aspects of the Alvis story, not only cars but also military vehicles, etc, are covered in exceptional detail from its founding in 1919.
Clearly this book will appeal to those interested not only in the Alvis story but also in the wider aspects concerning technical development, etc.
