Product description

Publisher: William Tegg & Co, London, 1849. Hard cover without dust jacket as published. 748 pages. The leather bound cover is in very good condition for its age, the boards have a few marks and minor scratches but the decoration is still present. There is some bumping on the corners and rubbing around the edges, the spine has raised bands and gilt decoration with some wear, the top of the spine has a small piece partially detached but present, overall the cover is still very attractive. The page block edges and end papers are marbled, internally the pages have minimal tanning and no tears or creases and the binding is very firm, there is a neat inscription on the first page and some pencilled notes in some margins. This is an unusual copy of this very popular book in surprisingly good condition.
