Extrinsic Allergic Alveolitis

£50.00

Product description

Hans-Joachim Sennekamp. Extrinsic Allergic Alveolitis. Dustri-Verlag 2004 (1st English edn).
Hardback with pictorial boards. Condition near-Fine, top of spine slightly rubbed.
Extrinsic allergic alveolitis (EAA), also called hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP), is a complex syndrome. Diagnosis and treatment remain a challenging task. EAA is caused by sensitisation to repeated inhalation of a variety of dusts containing organic antigens. Among the most common diseases are farmer`s lung, bird breeder`s lung, and humidifier lung. Due to the fact that a life-threatening fibrosis may ultimately result from continuous exposure to the antigens, it is highly important to the affected patient to detect and treat EAA. Despite the wealth of research literature on EAA, a lot of questions remain to be answered such as how to improve the professional diagnosis, how to efficiently test for the disease in the medical practice, how to minimise exposure to provocative antigens or how to properly instruct patients. The present work is one of the very few comprehensive monographs on the topic. Includes 2000 references.
Updated English edition.

Oxfam Shop Ulverston

Ulverston is a traditional market town that attempts to retain a sense of the Dickensian times as typified by the festival run in November. We are a conventional Oxfam shop and sell anything and everything that will be of interest to someone. We have a good reputation as a second hand bookseller and are developing a reputable clothing offer. Our friendly staff are always ready and willing to assist and we are continually on the lookout for more potential recruits. We have a strong focus on Fair Trade and like to run events to spread Oxfam's message and raise extra funds.
