Hedging : A Practical Handbook

£50.00

Product description

This handbook describes hedgerow management techniques. It is intended to be used by conservation volunteers and others interested in creating and maintaining hedgerows.

It contains lots of background information - hedgerow history, the law, dating hedgerows, conservation, flora and fauna, safety, tools and equipment. There are clear descriptions of characteristic regional styles of hedges across the UK and Ireland, as well as how to plan, plant and care for a young hedge. It also describes what you need to know about managing an established hedgerow, including trimming, laying, restoring, banking and turfing, and much more. Contains numerous line drawing illustrations.

The book is spiral-bound with glossy covers and is in fine condition. The rear cover has a fold-in flap on which conversion tables are listed. This second edition was published in 1998 and reprinted in 2005 with revised appendices.
