Practical Construction of Warships

£29.99

Product description

Practical Construction of Warships
R N Newton
Longmans, Green and Co, London, New York, Toronto; new impression 1957. First published 1941; new impressions 1941, 1943, 1946, 1949, 1953; 2nd edition 1955.
Hardback; 160 x 255 mm; blue/grey boards with gold titles on spine; xx & 464 pages. No dust jacket. Diagrams and two half-tone plates.
The book is in good condition. The binding is generally sound although there is cracking along the gutter between the front free endpaper and the fly title. Minimal bumping to the covers. The spine is a little grubby. The front paste-down endpaper is annotated in black ink: “M. PERKINS, 28, LEIGHTOR RD, WESTON, BATH”. The recto of the front free endpaper has another annotation crossed through in black ink. There is a small hole through page 65/66 but no text has been lost. Pencil marginalia marking on page 316.
This is a technical work dealing with all aspects, as they then were, with the building and fitting out of warships. It will be of interest to those working or studying in this field.
