Surgery of the Sympathetic Nervous System

WAS £19.99 £9.99

Product description

The first edition of this book was written in the early days of surgery of the sympathetic nervous system, chiefly to state the logical basis of, and the methods whereby patients were selected for sympathectomy. The second edition edition was concerned mainly with the results of operation, for the lapse of time had indicated not only the variability in the effects of sympathectomy, but also the factors which influenced the prognosis.

The production of the present edition, in response to several requests that the work should be bought up to date, has necessitated the re-writing of the greatest part of the book which is essentially an assessment of the surgery of the sympathetic nervous system as practised in the Surgical professorial unit of St. Bartholomew's Hospital. In it, the author's opinions and the methods he describes carry all the weight of his great authority and experience.

CONDITION: DJ has moderate rubbing and small hole tear to back spine section with some staining and foxing. Owners bookplate style name plate on inside board with small booksellers sticker at bottom. Page edges have moderate foxing. Boards clean bright blue with gilt lettering and pages inside clean and bright with illustrations and plates. (See photos for details.)
