Tales of a Rat-Hunting Man

£13.99

Product description

A lively book on an unlikely subject, this is a view of rats by someone who has spent much of his life pursuing them. It is both a serious book on rats and their habits and an instalment of Brian Plummer's eccentric and entertaining autobiography. He looks at the history of rats, and their role in spreading plague, and takes us, in the company of the Duke of Wellington, to visit the famous rat-pits of nineteenth century London. On the practical side he discusses the use and training of ferrets and terriers. A fascinating and perceptive book, showing a wry sense of humour though possibly not for the squeamish! Attractively illustrated by Martin Knoweldon.

Price clipped dust jacket , slightly soiled and with one small tear at top, over brown board covers in very good condition. Text clean throughout and binding tight. An unusual and collectable book. NEW REDUCED PRICE!
