Product description

An exploration of socially conscious consumption in the Netherlands Do not buy certain clothing because it involved child labor; buy organic eggs because they wish chickens a better life; share a car with neighbors for the sake of the environment; or buy fewer products across the board to reduce their own ecological footprint. More and more Dutch people do not only take price, quality and utility into account in their consumer choices, but are also guided by sustainable, political or ethical motives. They want to consume socially consciously. In this conceptual and empirical exploration, we describe what we understand by this phenomenon and look at the different manifestations, how often it occurs in the Netherlands and who are socially conscious consumers (and who are not). Several metropolitan sustainable food initiatives are being reviewed, which enable socially conscious consumption. For this study we used literature research, surveys, monitors and interview material.

Dutch language edition.  Excellent pages, some edge and cover wear.
