Mandates Under the League of Nations

£60.00

Product description

Originally published in 1930 by University of Chicago Press. This is a reprint of the 1968 edition published by Greenwood Press. Includes preface by the author, numerous appendixes, tables of data, extensive bibliography and index.

The League of Nations was an intergovernmental organisation that was founded after WWI on 10th January 1920 as a result of the Paris Peace Conference. Its primary values were to prevent wars through collective security and disarmament and to settle international disputes through negotiation and arbitration. The League lasted 26 years but was proven a failure after the outbreak of WWII. After WWII it was replaced by the United Nations.

Quincy Wright's extensive academic work gives an explanation of the origin and development of the mandate system. And also details the Organisation's law and value of the system.

In excellent, 'as new' condition. Tight binding and no obvious flaws.
