Profiles In Courage: Memorial Edition

£6.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

From the Foreword of this Memorial Edition (written by Robert F Kennedy): "Courage is the virtue that President Kennedy most admired. He sought out those people who had demonstrated in some way, whether it was on a battlefield or a baseball diamond, in a speech or fighting for a cause, that they had courage, that they would stand up, that they could be counted on. That is why this book so fitted his personality, his beliefs. It is a study of men who, at risk to themselves, their futures, even the well-being of their children, stood fast for principle. It was toward that ideal that he modeled his life. And this in time gave heart to others..."

Originally published in 1956, this Memorial Edition paperback was published in 1964 by the Perennial Library and includes this foreword by Robert F. Kennedy. The spine is discoloured and the edges of the cover are scuffed and a little grubby. The text block is tanned. Otherwise, the book is clean appears to be unread.

Oxfam Bookshop Hexham

We relocated in January 2016 to larger premises and are now able to offer a wider range of books and music (you can come and check out your musical choices in our listening booth and also find out a lot more about Oxfam's work.). We have a new local interest section, more space for history and have extended our craft and arts offer.  We also sell cards, fair trade food and ethical cleaning and beauty products.

Hexham is a market town situated in the beautiful Tyne Valley - the ideal stopping off point before exploring Hadrian's Wall, Chesters, Housesteads and the Temple of Mithras at Carrawburgh.
