Sadhana : A Text-Book of the Psychology and Practice of the Techniques to Spiritual Perfection [Seventh, 1998]

£14.99

Product description

Seventh Edition published in 1998 by The Divine Life Society.

Provides a guide to the numerous techniques for gaining inner contentment and holiness.

Sādhana literally "a means of accomplishing something", is a generic term coming from the yogic tradition and it refers to any spiritual exercise that is aimed at progressing the sādhaka towards the very ultimate expression of his or her life in this reality. It includes a variety of disciplines in Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, and Sikh traditions that are followed in order to achieve various spiritual or ritual objectives.

Written by Swami Sivananda (1887 – 1963), a Hindu spiritual teacher and a proponent of Yoga and Vedanta. He studied medicine and served in British Malaya as a physician for several years before taking up monasticism. He was the founder of the Divine Life Society (DLS) in 1936, Yoga-Vedanta Forest Academy (1948) and author of over 200 books on yoga, Vedanta, and a variety of subjects.

Complete with original unclipped dust jacket which has rubbing wear to its edges. The boards and pages are in a nice clean condition with very little sign of wear. There is some damage to the top edge of the half-title page
