The New Science of Giambattista Vico

£2.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

A revised and abridged translation of the third edition (1744), this book is the Magnum Opus of the thinker Giambattista Vico. This is a philosophical book about the cyclical nature of history and humanity, first written during the Age of Enlightenment in the 18th century, although this edition is much newer, being 40 years old. It is an interesting book, as although many ideas may be considered outdated by many people, the ideas in this book inspired other thinkers, including Montesquiue, Isiah Berlin and Karl Marx.

This book is in overall good condition. It has suffered some shelf wear, although a reasonable amount for a 40-year-old-book. In addition to scuffing on the bottom of the cover, there are a few marks throughout the cover. However, the inner pages are unmarked, and sturdy, and the binding is tight.
