Uit de armoede werken - Working out of poverty

Product description

Working out of poverty - extent and causes of outflow from poverty.

Are people who belonged to a low-income household in 2004 still poor three years later? This report shows what the chances of outflowing from poverty are and which factors determine whether people exceed the low-income threshold. Is it only about finding work or do other matters, such as a change in the composition of the family, play a role? And what are the reasons people don't look for work to get out of poverty that way? Does that have to do with health problems, with poorer job opportunities that discourage people, or with certain views about work and unemployment? The report shows that paid work does not necessarily mean the end of poverty. Fortunately, however, it also appears that, if people leave poverty, in most cases this is accompanied by finding (more hours) paid work.
