Published in 1957 by Mills & Boons Ltd, following a revival in the craft by the Dorset Women's Institute. The author explains the various techniques in detail and gives examples of how these can be used to make a variety of objects. There are 6 full page monochrome plates and a double page of coloured plates in the centre of the book. The work is packed with sketches and diagrams and has a useful index.

The front end paper is yellowed and there is and slight rubbing to the spine. However the book is in a good clean condition with sound bindings. There are two names written in the front of the book: 'Emily Cockram' and 'Judy Poole'.
