Product description

Lionel Trains

Standard of the World, 1900 - 1943

Second Edition

TCA Lionel Book Committee

The name Lionel has long been synonymous with the toy train. Since the turn of the century, these trains have appeared during the holiday season to delight boys, both young and old. In the past two decades, as with many items that have been manufactured over along period, the toy train has become very collectible. This book is designed as a reference work on lionel Trains from their first appearance until World War II halted production in 1943. Although the subject material is covered in depth and detail for the serious collector, the more than 700 colour photographs of trains from Lionel's most colourful era will appear to all. This book's first edition was more than three years in the preparation, with two years in the research alone; every effort has been made to make this the most accurate and comprehensive book ever written about Lionel Trains. Ten years after publishing the first edition enough new material has collected to warrant this second edition.

This book is published by the Train Collectors Association to further the hobby of collecting mass produced toy trains.

The book is in very good condition.

The dust jacket has tears at the top of the spine and wear at the bottom of the spine.

The book has dark blue boards with gilt lettering to the spine and front.
