Product description

"How to build a simple 3 1/2 in. gauge 0 - 6 - 0 tank locomotive based on the dockyard engines of the old Caledonian Railway."

Bound in blue boards with gilt titles to spine. Boards are scuffed at edges and corners with a very small split at tail of spine. There are spots of foxing and slight tanning on end and title pages. Some internal pages are marked with patches of staining and discolouration, varying from quite minor to relatively severe. However, the text and accompanying diagrams are fully legible. Page edges are darkened. A previous owner has made full use of this book and made their own calculations and notes within the text. There is a dustjacket illustrated on the front and bearing contemporary advertisements for model engineering publications on the back. The jacket shows marks of shelf - wear and has some tears around the edges but remains largely intact thanks to a cellophane covering.

This is a wonderful book for the enthusiast and it's condition is reflected in the price.

Most of the second-hand items you see online have been donated, by supporters like you, to our high street stores. Each item is then priced, photographed and listed on this site by our amazing team of volunteers from across the country.

After you have bought your item, our team of volunteers package and dispatch it from the Shop straight to you or your chosen recipient.

All profits from the sales of our goods go towards funding Oxfam's work around the world. We rely on your donations to sell online so please keep the cycle of goodness going!

Oxfam Shop Southampton

We have a dedicated bridal suite within the Oxfam's Southampton shop, with good quality fashionable bridal wear and accessories, new and second-hand, usually with a choice of over 200 dresses. Many of our beautiful wedding dresses can be taken home on the day. We also have another suite with a range of bridesmaid dresses, groom outfits, veils and lots of other wedding accessories.  Selected bridal items are available to order online.

Trying your first wedding gown is by appointment only by booking here.  During one hour of a free appointment, you will have our stylist volunteer to help you choose and try the dresses on. Usually you have time to try 5-6 dresses, but if there's time you can try as many as you like. Please help us to maintain our dresses in a good condition for other brides to try. You can wear make-up, but we will provide you with a face cover to prevent transferring the make-up to our dresses. The appointment will be on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 to 3.

In the main shop, we sell good quality clothes, books and homewares. We also stock greetings cards and a range of 'green' products.
