Published to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the 1841 Penny Red, this is the first handbook and catalogue specially devoted to the cancellations of the 1941 Penny Red. Illustrated with over 300 b/w photographs, maps and diagrams, the guide provides comprehensive reference value and informative reading. A detailed catalogue lists over 1000 different cancellations, with values and dates of use. The book has black boards and gilt titles on the spine and in a block on the front. Apart from a small mark on the half-title page edge the book is in fine condition. The jacket has some light general indentation, handling marks on the glossy surface and some noticeable creasing along the top edge, also a few small foxing spots on the front flap, and on the inside of the jacket. The book is a valuable visual reference and source of information for philatelists.
