1876 - 1976 Cent ans de chemin de fer dans la Broye

£30.00

Product description

The story of the standard gauge railway in the valley of Broye (Switzerland) starts with the first Swiss railway construction (1844), and then describes the coming of steam to the Broyes in 1876, finishing with fully modernised electric traction in 1976. Beautifully bound and printed on photographic paper, profusely illustrated with photographs, maps and drawings. Plasticised boards show steam train on an electrified section of track (front), black lettering on white spine and blank white back. No jacket (as issued?). The end papers are illustrated with a picture of the engine 'Le Chamois'. This copy is un-numbered, from a print run of 3000, of which the first 100 were regarded as the 'original' printing. Book is virtually as new, - no bumps or marks - slight yellowing of spine. Written in French.
