Driff's Guide to all the Secondhand Bookshops in Britain

£24.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

A copy of the 1984 edition of this idiosyncratic and very personal guide. Written by Driffield, one of the great book runners of the twentieth century, this navigates (mostly by bicycle) the byways of town and country, seeking the holy grail of a bookshop that not only has a good stock at sensible prices, but which is actually open when advertised. Full of acerbic and wry comments, dry wit and spoof reviews ("A triumph for Structuralism" Noddy). Although a guidebook in the strictest sense, this has the style of Three Men in a Boat.

This copy has been round a few bookshops but is in quite good condition.
