Publisher: The Studio Publications, London & New York, 1954. Hardback, 272 pages, unclipped dustjacket. Many superb b&w drawings by the author throughout. Cover, in green boards with gilt titling to spine and gilt design to front and spine, is in very good clean conditionwith just some slight bumping to spine extremities. Internally, the book is in good, clean condition with tight binding and no inscriptions, tears, creases or significant marks. Some light tanning commensurate with age and some foxing to front and rear endpapers. Text and illustrations are clear, clean and bright. The dustwrapper, which is not price clipped, is in poor to fair condition with some tearing to top edge, a tear with loss at lower right hand side, a larger tear (with some loss) at lower rear of jacket and at bottom of spine, general shelfwear to edges - however it continues to do its job in protecting the book cover well! The many wonderful drawings by the author alone make this book a desirable acquisition quite apart from the fascinating and informative text.
