In Darwin's wake

£4.99

Product description

The owner of the yacht of which John Campbell was skipper, wished to cruise the coast of South America and also take on the daunting headlands of Cape Horn. While he was planning the voyage, John realized that his route would follow closely that taken by Charles Darwin aboard the "Beagle", 150 years earlier. Campbell decided to compare the modern reality of those same places with the descriptions and observations made by those aboard the "Beagle". This book contains those observations.

Most of the second-hand items you see online have been donated, by supporters like you, to our high street stores. Each item is then priced, photographed and listed on this site by our amazing team of volunteers from across the country.

After you have bought your item, our team of volunteers package and dispatch it from the Shop straight to you or your chosen recipient.

Oxfam Shop Leicester Market Street

The Oxfam Shop in Leicester sells a wide range of donated goods with a particular emphasis on quality clothing, accessories, and music. The shop has two floors. The first floor consists of a large book department, women's and men's clothing and also Fairtrade products. The second floor is mainly bridal wear including mother of bride and eveningwear. We specialise in women's clothing and books.

Could you help us by collecting donations from donors homes? Our shop receives many offers of generous donations that we have to turn down as we do not have volunteers able to collect. We would ask you to collect in your own car, at your convenience and reimburse your petrol costs. It might be a couple of times a month and would make a really big difference to our ability to make money.
