366pp. French language memoir by the Vicomte de Chateaubriand of a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. Illustrated throughout with excellent engravings of the famous sites of the Holy Land. The book comes complete with an additional set of engravings which did not form part of the original publication. Overall condition is good/very good. The half leather red and gilt decorated boards are worn at the psine, with tears to the head and base and 2 cm of loss (illus.). The contents are tightly bound apart from some splitting between pp 240-241. The block is gilt edged and around half of the pages have been subject to foxing. Unmarked, apart from a set of initials in blue ink to the title page. Due to its weight, this book may incur extra delivery costs. This is dependent on your location and you will be asked to confirm any additional charges before your order is finalised.

Le livre est livré avec un ensemble supplémentaire de gravures qui ne faisaient pas partie de la publication originale. L'état général est bon / très bon. Les demi-dames décorées de rouge et de doré sont portées à la psine, avec des larmes à la tête et à la base et 2 cm de perte (illus.). Le contenu est étroitement lié à une certaine division entre les pages 240-241. Le bloc est doré et environ la moitié des pages ont fait l'objet de rousseurs. Non marqué, à part un ensemble d'initiales à l'encre bleue sur la page de titre. En raison de son poids, ce livre peut entraîner des frais de livraison supplémentaires.
