When Ffyona Campbell vowed to walk around the world, she stood by that vow.
On Foot Through Africa tells the very personal story of Ffyona's two and a half year trek across the continent, from South Africa to Morocco, taking in the relationships she made along the way, to the prejudices she faced. Between 1991 to 1993 she risked murder, rape, was mistaken for a cannibal spirit, suspected of being a slave merchant, stoned and mobbed, but she found peace within herself, learnt traditions and skills from local women, and her campsite became home when she fell in love with one of her drivers.
