Airgraph Service 1944 Greetings Form

£9.99

Product description

A rare item which may be of interest to history buffs and collectors - an unused airgraph service form designed to send Christmas and New Year Greetings at the end of 1944 to members of the forces stationed abroad. The letters were photographed and the negatives flown to their destination where they were printed and delivered. The film was smaller and much lighter than normal letters, so easier to transport by air. The message was written on the front, and instructions for use are printed on the back, with the 3d postage cost. This form has some slight browning in the top right corner, light foxing spots on the front, and two folds across. The design is most attractive.
