Diameter Base 3.75 inches
Diameter lip 3.25 inches
Height 3.75 inches
Width including handles 6 inches Approx.
Fine crazing of glaze throughout.

"The coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1937 not only marked the end of an era but the beginning of a new one. Change was in the air. In the same month that the new monarch was crowned, prime minister Stanley Baldwin, the dominant political figure of the inter-war period, resigned.
By the time of the next coronation, that of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953, India had been granted independence and the British Empire transformed into the Commonwealth. An extensive welfare state had been established, giving citizens social security from cradle to grave
Technologically things had moved on too. While it is estimated that 50,000 people watched the 1937 coronation on TV, many in specially created public viewing rooms, by 1953 more than two million households had combined TV and radio licences."
