Osklen, one of Brazil's most iconic fashion brands, began in 1990 by selling winter sportswear before refocusing on the luxury segment 10 years later. Forbes, the American business magazine, in 2012 dubbed Osklen as Brazil's first global luxury brand and it's founder and style director Oskar Metsavaht fourth most innovative person in Brazil and included in a list of the business world's top 100 creative people. Not only is the foregone impressive but the brand believes heavily in sustainability, using materials from recycled organic natural and artisan origins, developed by communities, cooperatives or industrial groups. Oskar Metsavaht is recognised globally as an environmentalist and leader of the sustainability movement. And this leads me nicely I feel into our latest offering from this Latin American style house, a two piece 100% linen stone coloured suit.
The jacket is two button fastened, one top pocket and two hip pockets, one either side with flaps, and three buttons are affixed to the cuffs on each side. there are two small inner pockets, one each side with the Osklen logo affixed to the edge of the left inner pocket. At the rear, there are two 6" vents. At the shoulders, to the top of the arm, rear area is a slit effect, which you can see clearly from the images.
The trousers have two side pockets, one either side and a rear pocket on the right side. I've shown images of the zip and hook and eye fastening. Unusually the trousers don't open fully for you to put them on conventionally, rather ya gonna have to climb in sitting down. Well, wacha expect? style this edgy comes at a cost compadre. Finally (Did I hear you mutter 'at last'), have a look at the styling to the front and rear of the trousers. They have a loose, low hanging look about them, partly at the crotch, but more so at the butt and the way the garment has been cut and styled, which hopefully you'll see from the latter images, is a deliberate design. Also, note that the trousers are quite high waisted. Oh, the model is a member of our style department. Well, maybe model is pushing it. Come to think of it, so is style department. There isn't one. Just me. Wacha expect?, we're a charity. ps you can have the hat for free, as long as no one buys it in the meantime.
