Harry Potter 1-6 12A

£24.99

Product description

Harry Potter 1-6 is a box set of the first six films of the hugely popular 'Harry Potter' franchise on 7 Blu-ray discs (Year 6 The Half Blood Prince is on two discs). There are several behind the scenes extras for each film, with interviews, special effects and featurettes. 'The Half-Blood Prince' has a second disc full of special features, making-ofs and interviews. A bonus being a featurette, including clips from the forthcoming 'Deathly Hallows' films. The box has been bumped on the corners and has several scuffs, but the cases are in very good condition and the discs are excellent. There are no scratches on the underside of the discs.

'The Philosopher's Stone' (2001) sees Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) newly enrolled at Hogwarts School with his chums Hermione (Emma Watson) and Ron (Rupert Grint). When the trio have a surprise encounter with a three-headed dog guarding a secret trapdoor, they begin to suspect that something important might be hidden beneath the school, and when they investigate it leads to an encounter with the evil wizard Voldemort (Ian Hart). Will Harry be able to keep up with his studies, lead his team to victory in the school sport Quidditch, and still triumph over the dreaded Voldemort?

In 'The Chamber of Secrets' (2002), Harry (Radcliffe) and his friends Hermione (Watson) and Ron (Grint) return to Hogwarts School of Witchery and Wizardry for their second year. Gilderoy Lockhart (Kenneth Branagh) and Sprout (Miriam Margoyles) have joined the staff and Harry and friends soon find that once again all is not right at the school - pupils seem to be petrified, literally, and a monster is on the loose. In 'The Prisoner of Azkaban' (2004), Harry (Radcliffe), Ron (Grint) and Hermione (Watson) have returned to Hogwarts for their third year, but there is a shadow hanging over Harry: dangerous serial killer Sirius Black (Gary Oldman) has escaped from the Wizards' prison, the Azkaban Fortress - and he wants revenge for the death of his master, Voldemort, who Harry defeated 13 years earlier.

'The Goblet of Fire' (2005) sees Harry (Radcliffe) board the train to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he will attend his fourth year of magical education. Shortly after his reunion with his best friends, Ron (Grint) and Hermione (Watson), Harry is introduced to another Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher: the grizzled Mad-Eye Moody (Brendan Gleeson). In 'The Order of the Phoenix' (2007) Harry (Radcliffe) returns for his fifth year of study at Hogwarts and discovers that much of the wizarding community has been denied the truth about his recent encounter with the evil Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes).

Finally, in 'The Half-Blood Prince' (2009) Lord Voldemort (Fiennes) exerts his power over both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and consequently Hogwarts no longer provides the safe haven it once did. Harry (Radcliffe), suspecting that new dangers lie within the castle ramparts, discovers a mysterious old book marked 'property of the Half-Blood Prince' and begins to unlock the secrets of Voldemort's dark past, aided by Hermione (Watson), Ron (Grint) and new teacher Horace Slughorn (Jim Broadbent). Meanwhile, the sixth-formers grapple with teenage hormones as various romantic liaisons unfold between them, some more dignified than others.
