Atlantic Records: A Discography - Volumes 1 & 2 [1979]

£120.00

Product description

First 2 volumes of a 4 volume set.

Published in 1979 by Greenwood Press. Glossy hardback boards.

Volume 1 - 403 pages, covers the period from 1947 to 1966
Volume 2 - 394 pages, covers 1966 to 1970

Compiled by Michel Ruppli, each volume contains a list of recordings by date and master number sequence. A list of abbreviations, with a cross index to Atco master numbers, an index of session leaders, and an addendum.

Atlantic Records, an American record label, was founded in October 1947. Over its first 20 years of operation, Atlantic earned a reputation as one of the most important American labels, specialising in Jazz, R&B, and Soul by Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Wilson Pickett, Sam and Dave, Ruth Brown and Otis Redding.

Both volumes are in very good condition, clean and fresh with no annotations and tight bindings. Light bumps and surface marks to the covers.
