A lovely introduction to the baroque music from the Late 17C / Early 18C, with pieces by : Marc-Antoine Charpentier (c.1645-1704) ; Johann Pachelbel (1653-1706) ; Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) ; George Friderick Handel (1685-1759) ; Christoph Gluck (1714-1787) ; Alessandro Marcello (1684-1750) ; Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741) ; and last, but certainly not least, the short-lived but thankfully-prolific Englishman, Henry Purcell (1659-95), who at one point as a youngster, was Charles II's chief court musician.
