Birthday Bach J. S. Bach

£3.99

Product description

The London Bach Society, formed in 1947, has been performing J. S. Bach's cantatas regularly since 1958 when the great series of Cantata Concerts began. Now we celebrate our coming of age by presenting on record some of our favourite cantata movements together with some other pieces. The selections exhibit many different aspects of Bach's vocal writing, and in addition, throughout Side 1 a consistent idea is presented, i.e. the varied use Bach makes of the Lutheran chorale (though obviously this subject is far from exhausted).

The London Bach Society conducted by Paul Steinitz. From the Exploring The World of Music series.

Pen marks on back sleeve from previous owner. Edges of sleeve starting to fray. Plastic on front sleeve starting to separate.
