Collection - Pasadena Roof Orchestra (best of 70s & 80s work, of late-60s-formed jazz band, CD)

£5.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

The Pasadena Roof Orchestra began life in 1969 when leader John Arthy rescued the other members from becoming obsolete in the unfashionable trad-jazz scene of the late sixties. The mainstream sound of the early seventies, was heavy, depressive, a hang-over from Sixties decadence and the Pasadena Orchestra provided much-needed light melodic antidote.

By 1975, the band had earned themselves a good reputation, particularly in Germany where they attracted the kind of adulation more usually bestowed on rock musicians. Many people, it seemed, were disillusioned with the capricious nature of pop culture, and were turning their attention to music that their grand parents had danced to, half a century earlier.
