SECOND CD - Beatus Vir, Old Polish Music, Totus Tuus, performed by Prague Philharmonic Choir, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, cond by John Nelson with N Storojev (bass), single CD, Argo 436 835-2 . THIRD CD - Kleines Requiem fur Eine Polka, Harpsichord Concerto, Good Night in memoriam Michael Vyner (Dawn Upshaw soprano), performed by London Sinfonietta, David Xinman & Markus Stenz (conductors) and Elzbieta Chojnacka (harpsichord), single CD on Nonesuch 7559-79362-2. All three CDs and cases are in very good, clean condition. For those who are perhaps familiar with just Gorecki's 3rd Symphony (of Sorrowful Songs), which became enormously popular in the 1990s (particularly in the version on Nonesuch sung by Dawn Upshaw), here is an excellent opportunity to explore a varied selection of his other great (if sometimes more challenging) works.
