HAND WINDING GRAMOPHONE IN WOODEN CABINET

£124.99

Product description

We've all been there, you know, at some barbie or food and drink get together and the host shows off his Bose sound system and bangs on about his music collection and how he can stream the life out of the planet and play on multiple platforms whilst at the same time recording the new James Bond film on Netflix and or Prime and still watch live coverage of Liverpool versus Man United on Sky, frying two eggs sunny side up and mixing your mojito as he bores the pants off you. (It's always a fella isn't it? Just sayin). And then your better half glances at you and thinks, 'please, don't let him fire back with the Hand Winding Gramophone in the Wooden Cabinet again. How many friends is he prepared to lose?' as she watches in horror as he pulls a picture of the damn thing out of his back pocket and begins the fateful phrase...."if you think that's impressive, just take a look at this beauty......."

Have a look at the images for this nice piece of kit. It's a Silvaphone Hand Winded Gramophone, in a case made by C.W.S. Cabinet Factory of Hay Mills Birmingham. I can't tell you the make of the deck or the hand winded motor, but I can tell you the motor works, although the winding handle is missing. I think the Gramophone Motor is of French, or Belgian origin, simply because the patent mark is in french. If you lift out the deck, the motor is on the underside and the patent is clear to see. The tone arm and bracket are in place, as is the Pianina Grand Concert Soundbox, although I'm not entirely convinced the soundbox is complete, or if it works. This is reflected in the price.. The dark mahogany cabinet comes with a pair of sound doors to the right and three record racks to the inner left of the cabinet. Has a nice carving on the front and barley twist to each leg.

Sizes:
Lid 28" x 17" x 4". Cabinet 27" x 16" x 34".

Collection:
If you are looking to buy, and you would like to collect from the store, then this can be arranged, although initially the delivery cost would have to be paid but would later be refunded.
