Soft and Sweet - (On 10" Vinyl LP Record) The Three Suns - DLP 1136

£10.99

Product description

The group was formed in 1939 by brothers Al Nevins (guitar) and Morty Nevins (accordion) and their cousin, radio and vaudeville veteran Artie Dunn (vocals, electronic organ). They became a popular nightclub attraction. The first records released by The Three Suns, during the 1940s and 1950s, were 78 rpm. 1950 saw RCA Victor's release of their first 10-inch LP. Between 1950 and 1954, 10-inch albums were released. In 1955, The Three Suns released their first 12-inch LP Soft & Sweet in 1955 on the "Victor" label and in 1958 released their first stereo LP.

This version on the HMV label was released in 1957 and is very rare in comparison to the original version on the "Victor" label but uses the same outersleeve art work.

This 10" vinyl 33.3 rpm record has been cleaned and stored in a modern anti-static inner sleeve with a new outer brown card sleeve. The original outer sleeve is provided but is in poor condition with a torn out front section and much wear and tear overall. The inner paper sleeve is also provided. Condition of the record is very good and when played as no noticeable surface noise and only an occasional static pop. There are many light scuffs and some long scratches but this doesn't seem to effect the sound quality and the surfaces are highly polished. A good playable record.
