The Goodies: Nothing to do with Us - Island Records - ILPS 9452

£5.99

Product description

The phenomenally successful comedy trio of the seventies, whose popularity, whose ability to demand a seemingly unlimited amount in terms of payment, a thing which was famously succinctly summarised by Bill Oddie with the statement "a 30 - second advert paid enough to buy a house." Furthermore, their show was so charming, so freewheeling and so silly and wholesome it has been described as having "the wit and inventiveness of a golden-era Tom and Jerry or Warner Brothers cartoon, lightly sprinkled with satire and the odd song."
This musical blast of fresh air however sees The Goodies push their boundaries, and experiment with more daring themes. The explorations and questions which abound in such controversial and subversive songs as ''A Cactus in My Y Fronts'', ''I Wish I Could Get High'' and the classical and timeless ''I wish I had Something to Say.'' A glimpse in to a landmark time for the Goodies, a group who were excelling within the comforts of their medium but who were also introducing something new, something darker and altogether more thought provoking.
The vinyl is in excellent condition with a little dust. The box is in good condition.
Matrix No: I - 7 ILPS 9452 A1
