the instant automatons Peter Paints His Fence - dep001

£60.00

Product description

The instant automatons, a Grimsby-based group, self- released this EP, 33 1/3 rpm, in 1980, and it was their first, (and penultimate) recording on vinyl, coming after a series of home-made cassette collections. The labels are unprinted but have sticker illustrations. Side 1 etched matrix no:- DEP-00 1-A1 (also etched: HUMAN ERROR IS A WAY OF LIFE. A PORKY PRIME CUT); Side 2 etched matrix no:- DEP-001-B (also etched : PETER DUBS HIS DAVB). The record is in excellent bright clean condition with no cross-track marks evident. The records were issued in a numbered edition of 1000 and this is number 0226 which is printed on the white inner sleeve and on the reverse of the outer sleeve. This sleeve unfolds to reveal b/w illustrations and hand written notes, one of which is :- 'Until now the work of the Instant Automatons has been restricted to their two cassettes on Deleted Records. The cassette medium is well suited to their advocation of "free music" - it is an advert, an order and a description; music which is financially and structurally unchained, and which demands to be released from the limitations of the mediums. "set it free" ' There are no extra stickers or items with this record. A limited edition EP which would be of interest to fans of this group's style of 'new wave' rock, and to collectors.
