Toi Toi Claude Deppa

£4.99

Product description

One of Africa's leading jazz figures, the South African trumpeter Claude Deppa, a UK resident, has been heard alongside the likes of Art Blakey, Miriam Makeba, Chris McGregor, Louis Moholo, Evan Parker, Courtney Pine, Fela Kuti, Carla Bley, Jazz Jamaica All Stars, and many others.

With 'Toi Toi', his debut album as a leader, Claude Deppa demonstrates his brilliance as a composer, arranger and trumpeter and his passion for combining infectious rhythms and ebullient jazz solos to create a truly unique sound. The originality of the music reflects his open musical approach and heartfelt respect for what has gone before. Contributing to the success of this exciting recording is Claude's pan-African band featuring drummer Brian Abrahams on drums and Tony Kofi on saxophones, among others.
