A Dictionary of Photography

£17.95

Product description

A thorough and practical dictionary of Victorian photography. Updating their first 1858 edition, Sutton and Dawson abridged and developed the dictionary content for functional and easy reference. Beyond its dictionary, the book contains chemical tables for photography, and sixteen pages of advertisements covering photographic equipment and the publisher's other works. Numerous diagrams are present in the book, and provide a visual reference for the comprehensive study of Victorian photography within.

The book is in fair condition considering its significant age. The binding is fragile, yet remains mostly intact. Some of the spine has peeled, yet it is present and the gilding remains clear. The hardcovers are held onto the spine by the cover cloth only. The pages all appear to be present and legible, with some damp-staining, and only the first blank page is detatched. The diagrams remain clear.
