Publisher: Printed for the author and sold by Mathews and Leigh, 18 Strand, Sherwood, Neely and Jones and Longman, Rees, Hurst and Orme, London. Full title is 'A Guide to Health or Advice to both Sexes in Nervous and Consumptive Complaints, Scurvy, Leprosy and Scrofula, also on A Certain Disease and Sexual Debility, to which is added an Address to Boys, Young men, Parents, Tutors and Guardians of Youth with observations on watering places, hot and cold bathing &c.' Fair condition for its age. Rough cut pages. Thick paper cover. Binding is loose at page 277, pages are tanned with some foxing spots here and there. Overall a good solid copy, commensurate with age, in thick paper cover of this absolutely fascinating and rare health guide from 200 years ago. Some of the advice put forward in 1810 still seems eminently sensible today - some not so much so. Cordial balm of Gilead, invented by Dr Solomon, unsurprisingly features as part of many of the treatments!
