A History of Kibworth Beauchamp Grammar School

£17.99

Product description

A History of Kibworth Beauchamp Grammar School - Bernard Elliott
Green & Co., Market Harborough
1958

Closed tears to the crown of the dustjacket spine. The dustjacket itself is slightly darkened towards the spine. The end papers of the main book block have become damp stained into forming a darkened strip. There is slight bumping on the crown and foot of the book's spine. The rest of the pages are as new.

The author Bernard Elliott, taking inspiration from Rev J. B. Hildebrand's previous 'A history of the school' set out to write a modern, more complete history of the school. Using the documents stored in the school chest, and with the cooperation of both John Elliott, the headmaster from 1927 to 1955 and to Mr. L. T. Daw, the head master at the time, Elliott writes the of the school's traditions and "A fairly full account of the school's history", with the purpose of boosting the school's renown as at the time of writing, 1958, the school was experiencing a decline in popularity.

A great and very in depth book for historians and previous students of Kibworth alike, including everything from the origin and founding of the school to the student honour roll, this book provides an unparalleled source of knowledge on the school and it's expansive history.

Oxfam Bookshop Market Harborough

Oxfam is the UK's largest second hand bookseller. Oxfam bookshops offer a wider selection of books than most shops, from modern fiction and leisure interest to more specialist subjects, classics, and rare or collectable books. We also stock an attractive range of greetings cards and a good selection of stationery. Come and browse!

Could you help us by collecting donations from donors homes? Our shop receives many offers of generous donations that we have to turn down as we do not have volunteers able to collect. We would ask you to collect in your own car, at your convenience and reimburse your petrol costs. It might be a couple of times a month and would make a really big difference to our ability to make money.
