A Mayor's Note Book: When England Was in Peril and After [1923]

£17.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

Published by The Hills Press Limited in 1923. A scarce, first edition. Includes Black and white photographs and drawings.

From the preface: "Those who read this little book will doubtless understand it is not intended to be a record of all the long series of local events which took place at a critical period of England's history. It was written in the first instance as a reminiscence to be handed down to my grandchildren, giving some of the experiences people endured during the Great War's exacting years, when such infants were in their cradles or were mere toddlers. It calls to remembrance many remarkable occurrences, with their side lights and shadows."

In good condition. Some darkening to the boards which have light rubbing wear. A former owner's name and address is written on the front end paper. The binding is firm and sound.
