A Ring of Bells

£14.99

Product description

John Betjeman's verse autobiography Summoned by Bells tells the story of his childhood and school days. From this period of his life come many of the ideas, subjects and moods of the poems that he wrote as a mature poet and because of this and because his direct, uncomplicated style makes him easily intelligible to everyone, this selection of poems has been made for young people. There are nine sections in the book and each is preceded by a passage from Summoned by Bells which tells a story and sets the theme for the poems that follow. Good+ Copy of this book in publisher's green cloth with brown title lettering to spine, in a very good dust jacket. The upper page edges are a little foxed. The pages inside are fresh and clean.
