Published in Japanese by Iwanami Shoten in 1954. Hardback. First Edition. 

The volume is housed in a slipcase. It has been signed by the author and is a copy presented to Professor Sir Roger Mynors who was a British classical scholar. The volume includes an airmail letter (in English) from the author to Professor Mynors at Corpus Christi, Oxford dated June 1958 in which he complains about the workload of being a professor in Tokyo.

The author was famous later for his stories for young people and children.

CONDITION: The volume is in good condition. It has a light mould to the covers. The dust jacket has a faded spine and small nicks at the top and tail. The text is clean and unmarked other than the inscription from the author on the F.F.E.P. There are two small labels which seem to be the original price. (See photos)
