Product description

Title: 'A Time to Waite'

Cityscape paintings by: Edward Waite

Foreword:

As an art publisher, the arrival of an artist's e-mail on my computer is a most regular occurrence. However, two years ago, when Edward's e-mail appeared, I was immediately intrigued. While I had seen cityscape artwork on many occasions, Edward's work stood out as being of particular interest.

Within a few days I had invited him down to our headquarters in Milton Keynes. It was a pleasure to meet this young skyscraper of a man who so resembled the towers he regularly reproduces. Both he and his art charmed us all and so began a fast track road to success. Not only were the large originals unique and fascinating but towards the end of our encounter he introduced us to the charming small paper drawing studies that he had produced on many of his travels.

For many followers who now visit his exhibitions, these drawings have become a regular addition and are an ideal collector's item for those wishing to purchase a smaller and less expensive piece.

In just two years Edward has moved on to greater heights and his exhibitions in all corners of the country have attracted tremendous attention and attendance. So great is his appeal that we have for only the second time in our history decided to fund the publishing of a book to celebrate his work. Edward is a tremendously talented and skilled artist and his travels have given him the opportunities to study and understand the edifices that intrigue him so.

We hope that this book gives pleasure to collectors and art lovers alike. While it's creation has proved a huge undertaking it has also been a project of great fun and love. May this be a springboard to a young talent who is heading in a 'one way' direction, and that direction is most decidedly up!
